Life Changing Events

It’s no secret I’m a big Tony Robbins fan. I’ve followed him for years, read his books, listened to his audio programs, and in 2017, I went to my first major event – Business Mastery. It was in Las Vegas, with 2300 business owners from all different industries, dozens of different countries, and ranging in revenue from nothing to hundreds of millions. It was a fun room. We spent 12 – 15 hours a day, the temperature in the room was kept in the 50s, there were no breaks, no real food, and you were constantly getting out of your seat and jumping up and down to loud music. I know, it sounds awful. And it was one of the best experiences of my life. (Please don’t feel bad if this isn’t your cup of tea. It’s not Jason’s either!)

Tony believes 80% of the success of a business comes down to the psychology of the owner. If your head is messed up, your business is messed up. (We’ve all seen this in our clients!) I agree with him. Given this belief, you might assume Business Mastery was all about psychology, or at least 80% of it was, but you’d be wrong. 80% of the program was focused on business. How to work on your business instead of in your business. How to apply incremental improvements across the main areas of company to realize exponential growth in revenue and profit (it’s perspective changing math). How to manage your finances as decision support instead of dreading tax time. The importance of automated investing. I could go on and on. It was a fantastic program which taught me a tremendous amount, and I’m looking forward to doing it again in the next few years.

After doing BMLV2017, and seeing the massive impact on our business, I decided to invest in Date with Destiny, but this time I did it virtually. I went into the experience with unrealistically high expectations, thinking this had the potential to improve my life the way Business Mastery improved our company. It didn’t disappoint.

In fact, despite starting with unrealistically high expectations, they were still exceeded.

Virtual was the way to go for this event. It was intimate and challenging. There were certainly tears. I’m not sure I’d have been comfortable doing this in a group setting with strangers. Or, maybe I’d have made friends for life. Either way, being able to control the temperature, having a bathroom close by, being able to eat when I wanted… I’m a fan of doing virtual for this program.

Given my decades long focus on excessive continual improvement, I’ve gone to a lot of training. I’ve spent ridiculous amounts of money and time learning. I can say without hesitation, Date with Destiny has been the single most impactful training experience of my life.
